The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

Imagine that you are a world-renowned detective that solves cases for clients that rank from royalty to engineers! That’s what it’s like for Sherlock Holmes. With his trusty accomplice, Dr. Watson, he solves cases that no ordinary sleuth could crack.
Sometimes murders, sometimes disappearances, sometimes robberies; all of the cases are mind-boggling! The tales are told by Dr. Watson, who is trying to give an accurate account of Mr. Holmes’s most confusing and interesting cases. The multiple cases, including: The Five Orange Pips, The Red-Headed League, The Speckled Band, and The Beryl Coronet, are told from Dr. Watson’s point of view so that you may come to realize Mr. Holmes’s extreme problem-solving abilities. This book is filled with action!
I liked almost all of the elements of this book; it had great character development, the many cases included were all very interesting, and hearing Mr. Holmes’s logic was astounding each time. The only problem that I had with this book was that, due to the fact that the cases weren’t that long, the multiple plots did not get that suspenseful.
I would recommend this book to readers twelve years and older. It does include a bit of violence, and the reading level is pretty high. People who liked this book should look for other Sherlock Holmes books; some are written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but there are also some versions by other authors.
